Ron Glaser - in the footsteps of the King

name: Ron Glaser - age: 34 - born in: Vienna - relationship status: single

If someone has never heard of you ... who are you ?

Well, for 29 years I have been a confessed Elvis fan, starting at the age of 5 years. Growing up with the life and work of Elvis Presley, his voice, his performance and his films has influenced and shaped me artistically.

Since when do you tour with the "Dudes" ?

"The Ridin Dudes" is exists since 2015 in different cast. But the cooperation with Mika Stokkinen goes back over 7 years. During this time a variety of projects were realized. "Elvis in Hollywood", "Duo Dudes" and much more.

What was before your musical outcome?

Prior to the artist career was a "normal" bourgeois life with vocational training as a gas-water installer and job as a home engineer in a nursing home. It was interesting and instructive ... but then came the turnaround and managed to turn the passion into a profession. Also a parallel to Elvis.

How did you come up with the idea of recording a CD with an orchestra?

In 2015, the London Symphonic Orchestra orchestrated 14 Elvis songs and arranged original recordings of the King. We picked up on this idea and, so to speak, "turned it around". Recording the songs with orchestral accompaniment has been an exciting experience. Elvis himself was not a stranger to playing with orchestra. He had an orchestra in the background during his performances in the 70s, only the arrangement was not so "synphonie-heavy".

Will there ever be a Ron Glaser & Orchestra concert?

We work on it. There are discussions with the Paramount Pictures Orchestra in LA. This is super exciting and we will pursue this, like so many things. Currently, however, such a project can not be implemented for cost reasons, but we are dran and maybe faster than we all believe.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I do not think so far. I'd rather live in the near future, that's exciting enough.

 Thank you for the conversation.
